Abstract: This study seeks to investigate the impact of fiscal and monetary policy on economic growth in Nigeria: Empirical Review from 1991 to 2021. An economy must therefore improve its economic growth and development with the end objective in mind, which is to lower its debt level and maintain price stability. Good political and economic conditions can dictate good government management and monetary authority. Numerous studies have found that the employment of monetary supply and tax tools during specific periods had a negative influence on output, indicating that the tools utilised in these studies reduced the effectiveness and efficiency of the policies. Other analyses have concluded that these measures are not very effective, as interest rates have dropped significantly between 1991 and 2021; however, investment and economic growth rates are still increasing slowly. As a result, it’s essential to enhance the effectiveness of fiscal and monetary policy by expanding transmission channels, including the banking system, financial sector, and capital market. This study suggests, among other things, that in terms of fiscal policy, The government may pursue economic expansion by growing spending (without matching increases in taxes) – such as building more federal roads – which could surge employment, thereby pushing up demand and growth – while the central bank can implement a tight monetary policy by raising interest rates and withdrawing money from circulation.

Abstract: The Public Provident Fund, Senior Citizens Savings Scheme, Post Office Recurring Deposit, and Sukanya Samriddhi Scheme are some of the government’s investment vehicles for individuals who wish to deposit small amounts over time as they earn. Small savings schemes are what they’re called. Small Savings Schemes are a series of savings tools administered by the federal government to encourage residents of all ages to save consistently. They are attractive because they offer not just larger yields than bank fixed deposits, and also national assurance and tax advantages. These strategies ensure a high rate of return while reducing uncertainty. They can be set up in various forms, with monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly plans being the most common. Some of these plans might also help you save money on taxes.

Abstract: This research study examines the multifaceted nature of global recessions, exploring their causes, implications, and strategies for recovery. It examines factors such as financial crises, declining consumer spending, trade contractions, business investment declines, monetary and fiscal policy changes, commodity price shocks, credit crunches, housing market collapses, and geopolitical events, all of which contribute to economic downturns. The consequences of global recessions, including unemployment, bankruptcies, reduced investment, financial instability, and budget pressures, are examined. The paper proposes a comprehensive recovery plan that encompasses fiscal stimulus, monetary policy adjustments, financial sector stability, trade facilitation, support for small businesses, labour market reforms, social safety nets, international coordination, debt relief, long-term investment, and regulatory reforms. The importance of tailored strategies, transparency, equity, and collaboration is emphasized for a comprehensive and resilient recovery from global recessions. The abstract concludes by emphasising the importance of drawing lessons from history, adapting to changing economic landscapes, and remaining agile in policymaking to promote stability and prosperity.

Abstract: Macroeconomic risks can create disruptions among various asset classes globally and have the potential to affect investors’ perceptions towards any investment alternative. Mutual funds in India are not an exception to this. It is one of the burgeoning investment alternatives in India, which has witnessed manifold growth over the past couple of decades, with an AUM of ₹10 trillion. In this study, an attempt has been made to assess the impact of macroeconomic variables on the assets under management (AUM) of various types of mutual funds and to investigate the existence of information asymmetry by applying the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) and the Exponential Generalised Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity (EGARCH) model to 10 years of monthly data from 2012 to 2022. It is found that macroeconomic variables play a significant role in explaining the variations in AUM across various types of mutual funds. Information asymmetry exists in all kinds of mutual funds, except for equity and debt-oriented open-ended schemes.

Abstract: The Algerian economy is distinguished by comprehensive economic planning and the government interfering with all aspects of life and economic activity. The research primarily focuses on Algeria’s pension system. The study mainly focuses on the pension system in Algeria and the factors that support it, as well as those that may be significant obstacles limiting its application efficiency. Among the many parameters covered by the research were conditions for obtaining and types of retirement, as well as how to finance the retirement fund in Algeria. The obtained results, which included government debt and public debt, represented the volume of investments for the National Pension Fund for the years 2003-2017, showing a direct relation with the financial sustainability of the National Pension Fund.

Abstract: This study examined the level of sufficient retirement benefits under the contributory pension scheme emanating from the pool of savings contributed that can suffice to provide the minimum needed livelihood. The secondary data on all pension contributions and retirement benefits were retrieved from a series of publications by Pen Com from 2004 to 2022. The primary data population consists of 1316 retirees. EasyFit 5.6 Professional Software, together with the Least Squares Model, accumulation, and annuity formulae, was employed to analyse the secondary data and the responses from the respondents during the survey. Arising from the data collected and the analysis carried out using the Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure, the level of comfort of low-income retirees who spent 20 to 35 years in active service is nothing to write home about due to insufficient pension benefits as a result of the challenges investigated. The study recommends implementing a minimum pension, subject to specific modalities, based on a 20-year minimum qualifying length of service and a 10-year post-retirement subsidy.

Abstract: While considering the developing countries like India, it is essential to focus on the primary source of employment for the majority of the labour force, i.e., the Informal or the Unorganised sector of the Indian Economy. This paper aims to provide insight into the various parameters of growth, employment, and labour productivity figures that have changed since 1972. The analysis would empirically capture the progress and changes in the sector over the financial years and scrutinise how these changes have resulted in a shift in the informal labour market. The aim is to establish the importance of the Informal Sector in India and demonstrate how the grandeur behind the growing variables is a deception, hiding the crumbling core of the Indian Informal Sector: falling labour productivity over the years.

Abstract: In financial management, Leverage is the key decision area. Leverage constitutes the Degree of Operating Leverage, Degree of Financial Leverage and Degree of Combined Leverage. In this paper, the relationship between Leverage and Profitability has been discussed. For this study, data from the financial year (FY) 2020 have been considered. Approximately 10 companies in the food industry, listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange, have been selected for this study. An exploratory research design is employed, utilising secondary data. The data was collected from the annual reports of the chosen companies. The data collected has been analyzed by using the regression tool. The primary objective of this study is to analyse the performance of the 10 selected companies.

Abstract: This research paper aims to analyze the bank volatility in India by examining various factors that contribute to fluctuations in the Indian banking sector. The study investigates the impact of regulatory reforms, macroeconomic indicators, financial stability, and global factors on bank volatility. The research utilises a comprehensive dataset covering one year, i.e., (01-04-2022 to 31-03-2023), to provide an in-depth understanding of the dynamics of bank volatility in India. We have used Bollinger bands to understand the volatility of three premier banks in India, namely, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and the STATE BANK OF INDIA, in the Indian stock market. The findings of this study will contribute to the existing literature on banking in emerging markets, help understand the factor of volatility in present times, and provide valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders in the Indian banking sector.

Abstract: Globally, the issue of financial inclusion is crucial, especially in poorer nations where access to financial services is frequently constrained. To increase financial inclusion in India, the government has implemented various laws and programs, but it is crucial to evaluate their success and identify areas for improvement. This study focuses on the financial inclusion initiatives and policies implemented in India. The research assesses the homogeneity and contrast of government actions, as well as the interaction between the banking sector and society. A descriptive analysis method and secondary data from RBI reports and World Bank FDI indicators were used. The results of this study imply that the government’s programme has made some progress towards boosting access to financial services, particularly in rural areas. This study outlines areas for emphasising increased financial inclusion in India. Future actions could include improving access to financial services for underprivileged demographics.
